1. Everyone wants a Fairy-Tale Wedding, so why would you Elope?

This can be a very personal question, but for many it is to avoid the drama, stress and expense of a large elaborate event. For others it allows for them to “just do it!” and to have it done quickly and in their own way. Plus, you can be “legal” now and celebrate later! Others like the adventure of a destination wedding. And for many who’ve been through the whole corporate event scene before, it gives them a private and quiet means to express their love and commitment to one another. Finally, there are those who want to be themselves and do something outside of the norm in order to create life-long memories.

2. Why have your Destination Elopement in Asheville, NC?

Plain and simple answer: Asheville is awesome. It is a world class destination. Asheville has the glorious Blue Ridge Mountains, the French Broad River, access to hundreds of miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, close proximity to hundreds of cascading waterfalls, the Biltmore Estate, Beer City USA – with over 40 craft breweries, wonderful friendly people, a fabulous art scene and temperate weather.

3. How long does it take to get my marriage license to elope in North Carolina?

In North Carolina, you can get it the same day and you should allow a couple of hours just to make sure. We prefer you get it a least a day in advance. Many counties offer a portal to apply online first.

4. May we write our own wedding vows?

Yes, and many couples do – especially for second marriages. Our Elopement Officiant will consult with you to help you choose your vows and design your custom ceremony.

5. What do I wear for a Destination Elopement?

Anything you want to. Some wear full Bridal Gowns and Tuxedos while others come in Blue Jeans and Mini Skirts. It is your wedding. Wear what you want – we’ve even had Zombie Costumes!. Our only request is that you please let us know in advance so that we may dress accordingly.

6. How long does an Elopement Ceremony take?

The actual ceremony is usually quite short, often done in 10 – 15 minutes. Travel to remote locations may take awhile – especially in busy tourist seasons – and should be considered in advance. Time spent posing and taking photos will vary according to the package and setting, but is usually between an 1.5 to two hours in length.

7. Is it legal for me to print the professional wedding photos?

You will receive fully edited digital files and a print release form. You may also upgrade your package to get professional enlargements, mounted canvas wall art, artist curated photo albums and more through Simple I Do’s. All of which will be printed by our Professional Photo Lab.

8. Do we need to bring witnesses to our Destination Elopement?

Yes, they are welcome. But no, they are not necessary. We handle everything for you.

9. How do I choose the location for my Destination Elopement?

Begin by asking yourself what is your personal romantic fantasy. Is it to say your vows with the mist of a beautiful waterfall swirling around you? Do you want to have gorgeous views in the background that show mountains and skies that seem to go on forever? Do you want the relaxed and fun party atmosphere of a local brewery? Or maybe the tranquil beauty of mountain streams or rivers excites your romantic senses? Once you determine your preference, we will help you here at Simple I Do’s to find the location that matches your fantasy. It is our pleasure to assist you in making your dreams come true.

10. Do you offer your Simple I Do’s services outside of Western North Carolina?

Yes. We will travel anywhere in the USA or Internationally.  Travel and Per Diem rates will apply.
