Funny how things has changed over the years…

When I was growing up, elopements were rare and when you heard that someone eloped, your impression was that something was probably wrong with their situation; the bride was pregnant was the big one, or maybe they were rejected as a couple by one or more sets of their parents. But now, elopements are a trendy thing to do. Articles in national publications have especially encouraged this trend. And then during the pandemic, large gatherings were forbidden, so elopements became an essential thing for couples who wanted to get married to do. They literally had no other option. And it makes a lot of sense especially when considering the staggering investment that many couples undertake to have a traditional wedding. The financial outlay for weddings today could in turn pay a downpayment on a house or by an expensive automobile.

Added to the financial consideration is the incredible stress that many couples feel when trying to plan for large gatherings. All the little details and decisions that have to be made can be overwhelming to some. Plus, no matter how hard you try, someone will not be happy. A family member or a friend will be offended in some way it seems like no matter what you do. And so now, Destination Elopements are in vogue.

At Simple I Do’s, our mission is to help you take the stress out of your elopement. After all, it’s supposed to be special, fun day that you enjoy to the fullest and remember fondly for the rest of your life!
