So we get a call one day from a Bride who is in her own words going crazy trying to plan a big wedding for all of their family and friends. Stressed out doesn’t begin to describe her emotional state at the time. She said I found your website and it says, “Bring your Rings and your License and we take care of the rest.” She asked if it really was that simple at Simple I Do’s, and of course we said, “Yes!”
Here’s the experience in her own words:
“Mark is absolutely amazing. Planning a wedding was so overwhelming for me. I contacted Mark, and every bit of stress just fell away. He helped so much during the planning of our elopement, including giving us some peace of mind when the weather looked like it wasn’t going our way. He took care of everything for us. The weather cleared up, and after an intimate ceremony, we got to spend several hours running around, taking photos and having fun with Mark. It was a pleasure to work with him and share our day with him.”
So Christy and Stephen set a date, made their travel arrangements, and we all met at the arranged location, date and time.
FYI: When brides kept bringing their own bouquets to their destination elopements, we decided at Simple I Do’s to quit offering them as part of our packages. (We’re sure that the reader will agree that purchasing a bouquet for a bride who then shows up with one she has also acquired is an unnecessary expense for both parties!) Therefore, couples may purchase the floral arrangements wherever they chose, but we always refer couples to this extremely talented floral designer. Christy contacted Tina McKenzie of MacKenzie Botanicals, who created a stunning Harry Potter Gryffindor themed Bouquet and Boutonniere set for them.

Simple I Do’s is all about tradition, but we’re also about thinking outside of the box. So in keeping with tradition, we can include wedding cake for the newlyweds to cut and serve to each other. It happens to be a Handmade Amaretto Cheesecake – not because they are so incredibly delicious, which they are! – but because they are easier to chill and transport without damage to remote locations! A champagne toast is another tradition, so we can provide that as well. If you bring a bouquet and some eligible bachelors and bachelorettes, you can do a bouquet and garter toss.
Yes, the Amaretto Cheesecake has Toasted Almonds, too. Pairs well with champagne and dark chocolate!
Finally, it is tradition for the newlyweds to share a first dance together. We carry a bluetooth speaker to your location so that you may order your favorite song, embrace the moment and share that dance.
Just recently, in January of 2019, Christy and Stephen finally had that big party for their family and friends where they celebrated their love and union with everyone. Here at Simple I Do’s we have very wonderful and fond memories of the time we were able to spend together on their small destination wedding here in Asheville. Though their elopement was held at a very public place, it still felt like a very intimate wedding. And we had absolutely no stress – other than a little potential disagreeable weather.
